Summary:


As a Flight Approval Coordinator, your duties are exclusively dedicated on the tactical phase of the flight. The tactical phase of a flight starts on the day of operation and ends after the flight has completed all post-flight operations. The Flight Approval Coordinator is required to maintain full overview of the whole fleet on a tactical level by adhering to the required procedures.

This is an onsite position located in Columbus, OH. with a rotating schedule - 9.5 hours each shift, 4 days on, 4 days off.


Responsibilities:

The Flight Approval Coordinator reports to the Duty Manager. They are mainly responsible for the initial risk and feasibility assessment of all new flights and inherent schedule changes. Working closely with the DMs they also contribute to ensuring that the fleet is optimized for a safe and economically efficient operation. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring that the applicable AOCs operations are conducted according to the provisions of international and national regulations
  • The responsibility for approving flights according to all international and national regulations and assessing operational feasibility of flights (e.g. operating hours, NOTAMs aircraft availability)
  • As part of the approval process coordinating further steps with other stakeholders such as Crew Scheduling, MOC, FOMoD/CPO, Sales, and Client Services if necessary
  • In coordination with the DM - ensuring that crews, customers, and aircraft are safe at all times by keeping a constant overview of safety or hazardous situations around the Globe. This involves running and monitoring security assessments and escalating any potential issues to the DM, when applicable
  • Initial fleet optimization, assigning of positioning flights, deciding on tail assignments and possible upgrades/downgrades in coordination with the DM as well as other key stakeholders (CS, Sales, Revenue Management)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s degree from a four-year college or university with a course of study/major in business, aviation, or operations management; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge of FARs in regard to Part 91, 121, 125 or 135 airline operations preferred
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and aptitude to learn customized company software programs
  • Familiarity with core job competencies including, but not limited to, flight planning, international operations, weather, and ATC
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the business
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Multi-tasking effectively, prioritizing appropriately, and providing timely communication of project(s) status
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment with the ability to work independently and solve problems
