We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Fleet Dispatcher to coordinate and manage transportation operations within our logistics network. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced transportation management systems and GIS tools to efficiently dispatch , optimize routes, and ensure timely delivery. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analysis capabilities, and proficiency with various industry-specific software to support seamless fleet management and supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement across multiple locations, ensuring optimal utilization of fleet resources.
Utilize GPS, GIS, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 to plan routes, monitor vehicle locations, and track shipments.
Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems and other communication channels to relay instructions and updates.
Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight details, and fleet status using systems like Transportation Management and 3PL platforms.
Monitor fleet performance metrics, analyze logistics data to identify efficiencies or issues, and implement improvements in transportation planning.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards related to freight handling and fleet management.
Manage scheduling adjustments due to unforeseen delays or operational changes while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Requirements
Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation management environments.
Strong knowledge of technology, transportation management systems (such as Route Genie )
Familiarity with supply chain processes, transportation planning, shipping & receiving procedures, and freight coordination.
Excellent analysis skills to interpret logistics data and optimize dispatch operations.
Proficiency in data entry, typing skills, and managing multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
