Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious

Flagger

to join our road maintenance crew. The flagger is responsible for controlling traffic flow around construction zones, protecting workers, equipment, and the traveling public. This position requires alertness, clear communication, and strict adherence to safety standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Direct traffic safely through and around road maintenance and construction sites using stop/slow paddles and hand signals. Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control signs, cones, and barricades according to project traffic control plans. Maintain constant communication with other flaggers and crew members via radios or hand signals. Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control measures to maintain safety and minimize delays. Remain alert and focused at all times to ensure the safety of both workers and motorists. Report unsafe situations, near misses, or incidents immediately to the supervisor. Assist with other general labor duties on the crew when traffic control is not required.

Qualifications

2 years flagging or traffic control experience preferred. Valid

Flagger Certification Card

Knowledge of MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) guidelines. Ability to stand on feet for long periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and remain attentive for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and place traffic control equipment (up to 40 lbs). Work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind).

Compensation & Benefits

$30.00/hr Overtime opportunities.

Employment Type:

Full-time/Temporary job beginning October 13th and continuing for 2 months.
