Financial Representative Claims Follow-Up Patient Accounting (Full-Time_

M-F 9AM to 5PM) 150 East 42nd Street

Analyses accounts and billing(s) to ensure accurate submissions to third party payors; makes corrections as needed. Ensures payments and adjustments are posted properly; prepares refunds as needed. Compiles and prepares reports as required by management.
Responsibilities

  • Updates insurance and/patient information in the billing system
  • Posts pertinent memos as needed
  • Utilizes third party system (i.e.Omnipro, PC, etc.)
  • Telephones contacts to follow up on accounts in a professional and assertive manner
  • Answers all patient, third party or other department\'s request or inquiries (via telephone or face to face) in an accurate and professional manner
  • Requests and utilizes medical records and/or other pertinent documents to verify patient accounts information
  • Identifies and reports billing issues and/or system problems, in a timely manner, to immediate supervisor for handling or resolution
  • Utilizes trial balance and other reports to identify and resolve outstanding accounts and bring to a final resolution
  • Compiles and prepares reports as required by management
  • Performs breakdowns (i.e. cash/voucher, EOB mail lists) in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconciles daily cash receipts and tape payment remittance
  • Determines appropriate general accounts postings
  • Maintains accurate filing and record keeping
  • Performs other tasks as assigned and needed
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Prior experience in a hospital based billing department.
  • Successful candidate will be required to pass assessment test

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $26.89 - $28.27 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
