JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Finance Specialist

Summary The full-time Finance Specialist serves as a key business administration professional for the financial operations of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois. The FS provides critical finance coordination by assisting in the advancement of the mission, ensuring steward excellence, in turn, upholding the excellent quality of service provided to families in crisis since 1986. The FS reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer
(CFO). Essential Job Functions

  • Assists the CFO with the compilation of financial data and reports, such as those needed for Board reports, annual audit, quarterly reports to Global, monthly donation reports, expense reports, and other reports as needed.
  • Helps maintain our donor database, Blackbaud Raiser\xe2\x80\x99s Edge NXT.
  • Tracks and codes expenses and income for monthly financials. Enters detail into QuickBooks.
  • Responsible for weekly deposits. Works closely with Development Director regarding tracking of donations to ensure check/balance of monetary donations.
  • Responsible for timely completion of donor thank you letters and coordinating a completion schedule with Development Director. Assists with tracking of donations, both cash and in-kind, and thank you letters.
  • Communicating with Vendors as needed in regard to invoices
  • Uploading Invoices in Teams to the appropriate recipient in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties related to House business and other administrative duties as assigned by CFO.
  • Promotes a positive image of Ronald McDonald House Charities through communications, behaviors, and a professional attitude.
Education and Experience \xe2\x80\x93 An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, with business or finance related field preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Experience working with nonprofit field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using MS Office Suite software, including EXCEL (intermediate level EXCEL skills required)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions during your work day
  • Self-starter, with ability to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a flexible, team- oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet frequent deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with databases such as Raiser\xe2\x80\x99s Edge NXT
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable transportation
