Link Freight is a contracted service provider for FedEx Ground in Cedar Rapids, IA. We are looking for dedicated and timely individuals who own a qualified vehicle to join our team during the upcoming holiday season as a FedEx Ground FLEX Delivery Driver. The Alternative Vehicle Program (A.V.P.) allows for people with delivery experience, such as Uber/Lyft, DoorDash, Pizza Delivery, Etc. to use their qualified Truck or SUV to load a route of small to medium packages to cover supplemental areas of our contracted service area. As an essential part of our package delivery operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that packages are delivered promptly and in excellent condition. The FLEX (A.V.P.) Driver position offers a unique and dynamic work experience, providing autonomy and flexibility while serving our customers with exceptional service.

FedEx Ground Flex (A.V.P.) Drivers are

paid $20 Per Hour, Plus .20 cents a mile.

Responsibilities:

1. Delivery Execution: Safely operate your own personal Truck or SUV (some sedans may be considered) as a FedEx delivery vehicle to deliver packages to residential and (some) commercial customers within the assigned area, based on the route instructions provided.

2. Package Handling: Using a company issued scanner, you will: Load, scan, and unload packages using proper techniques to prevent damage and maintain security of the merchandise during transportation.

3. Time Management: Efficiently manage time to meet daily delivery deadlines, ensuring on-time performance and maintaining customer satisfaction.

4. Customer Service: Professionally interact with customers, providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer inquiries or concerns are addressed promptly and accurately.

5. Safe Driving: Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Regularly inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle to ensure its roadworthiness.

6. Navigation and Routing: Every driver will be provided an iPad that used our GroundCloud routing technology and route optimization tools to navigate efficiently, delivering packages according to the assigned route sequence.

7. Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including package delivery records, vehicle logs, and any other required reporting.

8. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, supervisors, and management to achieve operational goals and maintain a positive work environment.

9. This is an

excellent

opportunity for those looking to earn extra money for and during the 2025 holiday season. Typical work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and routes will vary depending on the team's daily needs. Each day will start and finish at the Durham, NC FedEx Ground Terminal, and we service areas such as Chapel Hill, NC.

Driver Requirements:

1. Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license, and OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE.

2. Clean Driving Record: Maintain a clean driving record, with no more than one moving violation within the past three years.

3. Your Car, Truck, SUV, or Van must be 2012 model year or newer, in good visual condition and clean (inside and out).

4. Physical Stamina: Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 75 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.

5. Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with customers and respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.

6. Time Management: Strong time management and organizational skills to meet daily deadlines and effectively manage workloads.

7. Reliable and Punctual: Be punctual and maintain reliable attendance to ensure timely package deliveries. Call-Offs on scheduled shifts during this holiday season

will not

be tolerated.

8. Work Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and schedules, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.

9. Integrity and Professionalism: Possess a professional and ethical attitude, maintaining security and confidentiality of packages and customer information.

10. Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using technology, including handheld scanners and GPS navigation systems.
