Job Summary:
Brady seeks a creative, accomplished, and dedicated individual to fill a Federal Policy Manager position in the organization\xe2\x80\x99s Washington, D.C. office. This is a rare opening to serve with one of the nation\xe2\x80\x99s oldest and most effective gun violence prevention organizations and work towards positive public policy outcomes and help end the epidemic of gun violence. The Federal Policy Manager will serve with Brady\xe2\x80\x99s Federal Policy Team and will be responsible for executing Brady\xe2\x80\x99s federal legislative strategy as well as advocating Brady\xe2\x80\x99s policy agenda with partner organizations and on Capitol Hill.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Brady\xe2\x80\x99s Federal Policy Team to execute organization\xe2\x80\x99s gun violence prevention policy priorities in Congress
  • Monitor legislative developments on an ongoing basis, provide analysis of new information, and support the federal affairs agenda by drafting talking points, fact sheets, testimony, letters, and reports
  • Manage relationships with Congressional offices and allied organizations to strengthen relationships
  • Plan briefings and events promoting Brady\xe2\x80\x99s advocacy agenda
  • Support and help execute Brady\xe2\x80\x99s grassroots activities on Capitol Hill by training and assisting grassroots supporters participating in advocacy events
  • Attend and staff occasional evening events
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree required; minimum of three years of experience \xe2\x80\x94 Capitol Hill, lobbying, advocacy, policy development, or policy analysis at the federal level;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build new relationships, create partnerships, and coordinate effectively with allied organizations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to be flexible
