Job Description


POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for the efficient operation of our Food and Beverage department in all areas and instilling in our customers the desire to come back. Participates in employee development, assists in establishing department standards, guidelines and objectives while helping to maintain the internal control measures necessary for operational efficiency. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, motivate, and encourage the staff to openly communicate their suggestions, problems and needs.
  • Assist Food & Beverage Manager in hiring and evaluating personnel.
  • Train, evaluate and monitor staff to ensure they are providing the best possible customer service and providing guests with the best possible experience during their visit to the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Prepare employee schedules to ensure the proper staffing level for service and labor control.
  • Monitor and evaluate both restaurant and bar service performance and customer relations.
  • Take the initiative to correct deficiencies and provides input, whenever possible, in decision making that may affect customer service, food quality, staff morale and financial returns.
  • Perform daily inspection of food & beverage quality or "a line check" each shift to ensure freshness, consistency and that recipe specifications are met with each menu item and portion size.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Business related college courses preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of five years\' experience in a full-service restaurant (preferably in a Casino environment), with at least three years\' experience working in a supervisory capacity.
  • - OR - Willing to consider a combination of education and/or experience (minimum 5 years) with a minimum of two years\' experience in Three Peaks Restaurant with exposure to scheduling, leading, training, guest service recovery and a thorough knowledge of the STC Internal Controls. Applicant must demonstrate ability to perform successfully in the position.
  • Must have knowledge of various positions within the restaurant/bar operations as well as a thorough understanding of each position\'s responsibilities and the duties of maintaining these areas.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and controlling cash flow and security of assets required.
  • Knowledge of food, beverage product, handling and preparation required.
  • Knowledge of service, service etiquette and standard service practices for a full-service restaurant and bar areas required.
  • Knowledge of standard safety and sanitation practices for food & beverage service required.
