is responsible for managing the income tax compliance for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, private foundations, and family-owned entities. The role involves a high degree of confidentiality, organization, and attention to detail in order to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The accountant will work closely with other professionals, including the family office director, external investment managers, legal counsel, and tax professionals, to ensure the family's assets are properly documented. This role will support the Family Office's overall tax compliance and process management. This role reports to Director, Tax.
You will

Maintain accurate financial records for all family office entities (trusts, investments, related entities).
Prepare and reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Ensure proper transaction classification, documentation, and reporting on investment activity, including cash flows and valuations.
Monitor and track investments across asset classes (private equity, real estate, public securities, alternatives). Collaborate with the Family Office Director and external advisors to ensure compliance and proper documentation.
Support preparation of performance reports detailing income, gains, and losses.
Assist with preparation of tax filings for individuals, trusts, and special-purpose entities. Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely, compliant filings.
Monitor tax law changes affecting high net- worth individuals and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements. Manage and respond to federal and state tax notices.
Record and track financial transactions related to personal spending, investments, donations, and real estate. Maintain records of gifts, inheritances, and estate planning documents.
Provide financial reporting and insights to family members as needed.
Maintain internal controls and governance standards to ensure financial accuracy and integrity. Review financial statements regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Manage relationships with accountants, auditors, advisors, and other service providers. Coordinate communication among legal, tax, and financial professionals for tax and estate planning.
Prepare clear financial reports and summaries for family, board, and trustee meetings. Provide insights to support investment, risk management, and estate planning decisions.
You will come with

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
3-6 years' experience in in public tax accounting performing high-net worth individual tax return preparation and compliance.
Income tax compliance experience with individuals, trusts, estates, and foundations.
Experience with accounting for investments (private equity, real estate, securities), estate planning and airplane management.
Strong understanding of investment vehicles, tax strategies, and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals.
Familiarity with tax laws and regulations related to family offices.
Maintain the highest level of integrity, handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, external advisors, and family members.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Quickbooks, CCH Access) and financial reporting tools.
Advanced technological proficiency, including expert Microsoft Excel skills.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire, is preferred.
