The State Bar of Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Facility Assistant (15-20 hours per week, flexible schedule)
The State Bar of Wisconsin is in search of a dependable and motivated part-time Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our building and vehicles. This role is especially well-suited for semi-retired individuals or those seeking a flexible schedule with prior maintenance/trades experience who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in their work, and value being part of a supportive team without the demands of a full-time schedule. The successful candidate will be flexible and responsive to changing priorities, willing to assist with a variety of tasks, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with staff and vendors.

The State Bar of Wisconsin is a professional association, created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for all attorneys who hold a Wisconsin law license. With more than 25,000 members, the State Bar exists to serve its members and the public by promoting the law and access to justice. We aid the courts in improving the administration of justice, provide continuing legal education and other services for our members, support the education of law students, and educate the public about the legal system. The State Bar of Wisconsin also provides public services -- such as attorney referrals and public education - and supports programs that provide reduced-fee legal assistance for low-income state residents.

Variety in your job! You will do a little bit of everything in this role from room set-ups for events, shipping packages, to maintenance around the building. No two days will be the same and you will thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.
What You Will Do
Set-up for events, move furniture, and prepare the room for internal and external meetings.
Perform miscellaneous maintenance projects (for example, replace bulbs, salt walkways and shovel snow, grounds maintenance, water flowers and weed, fill soda machine, install bulletin boards, paint, move furniture, empty trash, maintaining the flags, etc.).
Order and maintain building and office supplies (lightbulbs, shovels, salt, copy paper, file folders, etc.).
Initial point of response for electrical issues, plumbing issues, HVAC, and other emergency building maintenance.
Serve as a back-up on the response team that addresses calls/issues from the security company.
Maintain maintenance schedule for the SBW vehicles.
Assist in receipt, storage, and record keeping of all deliveries, as well as, handle daily shipments.
Conduct regular facility checks to identify maintenance or safety issues and support preventative maintenance efforts to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working order
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Assist with vendor coordination and oversight when applicable
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Drive box truck to various conferences and events to help set-up, load and unload the truck.
What We Are Looking For
Valid WI Drivers License (or ability and willingness to obtain one immediately upon hire)
2+ years of facility maintenance or skilled trades experience. Comfort using common hand and power tools.
Ability and willingness to drive a box truck to various meeting locations to deliver and set up materials
Dependable and positive, helpful attitude. Strong teamwork and customer service skills with a desire to pitch in when needed.
Detail oriented and organized
Ability to work with a flexible schedule
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and work requests
Takes pride in quality workmanship and reliability
Professional and respectful in all interactions
Will be required to use a computer
Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs., bend and twist repeatedly, climb ladders, crouch
Compensation and Benefits
The wage range for this position starts at $22.40 per hour and can increase depending upon qualifications. This position will work 15-20 hours per week depending upon availability. Working a minimum of 20 hours per week will result in being eligible for benefits. The State Bar of Wisconsin offers competitive compensation with annual merit increases and excellent benefits.
