The Dougherty County Facilities Management Department is hiring for a Facilities Management Director. The purpose of this position is to direct the renovations, repairs, upgrades, life cycle analysis, cleaning and sanitizing of all County facilities, and the services of the County Mailroom.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
Essential Tasks
-------------------
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
Formulates, plans and establishes departmental and organizational policies and procedures and long-term goals.
Designs the departmental budget and submits for approval.
Provides broad general policy guidance and coordinates the work of the department.
Initiates and creates quality and safety standards; monitors operations to ensure compliance and overall efficiency.
Plans facilities audits; determines life-cycle needs.
Ensures compliance with safety procedures, regulations and laws.
Directs installation of communications equipment for county facilities; manages energy management program.
Delegates responsibility in areas such as operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and custodial services.
Supervises the preparation of written and graphic presentations.
Directs the resource allocation process for annual operations and capital expenditures.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Eight (8) years of construction or facilities management or related field of which two (2) are in a management or supervisory position or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

Special Certifications And Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Fork Lift Certification.
Pool Operator Certification
