Texas Instruments (TI) is looking for an experienced Chemical and Gas Engineer / Construction PM to join our World-Wide Facilities (WWF) Construction Team. This team member will be directly responsible for sustaining, design, installation and project management for chemical and gas systems to support a new semiconductor wafer fab in Utah. TI Facilities operates a variety of process and support chemical and gas systems. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. The WWF team works closely with TI\'s other facilities sustaining organizations and manufacturing teams to understand how the facilities utility systems impact the process quality, reliability, and safety as well as how to reduce consumption.

Responsibilities include:

  • Chemical and Gas responsibilities:
  • Engineering support for Chemical and Gas System operations & maintenance, ownership of system capacity vs. demand and system troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of chemical compatibility for materials for process fluids and gases; as well as materials of construction needed for chemical and gas systems to meet semiconductor high purity requirements
  • Provide Facilities system engineering leadership to the site organizations in support of safety, reliability, quality, environmental and cost objectives.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance team to develop plans for maximizing operational and maintenance efficiency.
  • Perform systems assessments, develop and implement improvement roadmap via capital and expense projects.
  • Manage technical, administrative, financial, schedule aspects, strategic communications, and customer stakeholder relationships during the execution of various facilities projects.
  • Permitting and Code compliance related to Chemical and Gas Systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Effectively manage system deliverables including points of delivery, utility parameters, specification limits and notification methods.
  • Development and maintenance of SOP\'s and SOO\'s for respective systems.
  • Work to integrate reliability focus and risk analysis into Systems Engineering job scope. This includes FMEAs, root cause analysis, cause mapping, design, commissioning and training.
  • Project Management responsibilities:
Team with other engineering disciplines, management, internal customers, and suppliers to ensure projects and systems are cost effective, within budget, meet the desired design criteria and schedule requirements. * Responsible for the engineering analysis, design, and installation oversight of distribution systems for chemicals and gas equipment and systems.
  • Organize and plan design activities, create construction documents or manage external design teams in the execution of such deliverables.
  • Project scopes will range from the installation of a single VMB up to the design and installation of a bulk-fed factory-wide distribution system.
  • Write scopes of work, bid request for proposals, specify and order material.
  • Review construction management documentation such as submittals and requests for information.
  • Manage all project related financial information to ensure compliance to budget, including change notices, purchase orders, capital forecasts and invoicing.
  • Direct and execute project commissioning to ensure all chemical and gas systems equipment, components and infrastructure perform as designed.
  • Create and communicate project documentation including sequence of operations, installation procedures, and checklists for commissioning and start-up
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree engineering, construction management, or equivalent degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience and understanding of safety and environmental requirements for hazardous materials and the compatibility of materials of construction.
  • Experience with managing projects in design and construction.
  • Ability to manage and direct technicians and contractors as well as coordinate multiple design and contractor disciplines on a variety of projects.

  • Use Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, AutoCAD and similar software.
Preferred Job Skills and Certifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or above in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
  • 5 years or more experience with Semiconductor Facilities Chemical and Gas Systems experience designing, maintaining, or installation of distribution piping, valve manifold boxes, gas cabinets, chemical supply pumping systems for hazardous and high purity chemicals and gases.
  • Demonstrates leadership and project management skills, including organizational, time management and priority setting
  • Experience with gases and chemicals used in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with industrial facilities
  • Experience with installation, construction, and management of capital projects
  • Certifications or training with specific semiconductor chemical and gas systems infrastructure is a plus
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong safety leadership
