What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

Farm Progress is seeking an Executive Editor to lead audience engagement for its Farm Futures brand portfolio. The Executive editor, Content will be responsible for Farm Futures brand management, strategic direction, content creation, industry profile, competitive positioning, financial attainment of budgets, and the attainment of annual KPIs as set by the Senior Executive Editor. This position will also be responsible for technology enhancements, talent management, financial management of the content team, training, team talent building, data integration into daily workflows, omni-channel management.

Qualifications:

Role Accountability and Duties:

  • Enhance and maintain Farm Futures\xe2\x80\x99 reputation as a trusted leading source of business and management information for high-income farm owner/operators
  • Strategically manage original content creation for the Farm Futures brand portfolio.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and create editorials that drives reader/viewer engagement and adds value for our content consumers.
  • Integrate proprietary Farm Progress demographic, survey, and readership profile data to enhance content consumption.
  • Manage freelance, voluntary and staff engaged in preparing written material for print and digital publication. Confers with authors and editors regarding budget, background information, objectives, audience level, and style.
  • Manage or confer with bloggers, copy editors, editorial assistants, technical editors, proofreaders, and video editors as needed.
  • Coordinate Farm Futures events, including the annual Farm Futures Business Summit speakers, topics, agenda, and budget.
  • Confer with design, editorial, and production department activities as needed.
  • Oversees workflow of projects to completion within specified budgets and deadlines.
  • Evaluates, approves, and oversees the implementation of new methods and systems.
  • Prioritizes, tracks, handles, and maintains records of the elements, costs, and time schedules of multiple projects.
  • Follows standard editing procedures and Farm Progress established style.
  • Selects, supervises, obtains cost estimates from, and pays invoices of outside vendors such as freelance editors, speakers, bloggers, etc.
  • Confer with HR in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Farm Futures colleagues as needed.
What you bring to the team:
  • Experience in business, management and/or economics writing including features, news, analysis, and profiles.
  • Minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing a content team.
  • Omni-Channel integration of content
  • SEO experience
  • Digital, video product development experience
  • Knowledge of building social communities
  • Audience acquisition expertise
  • Ability to drive organizational change.
  • Data integration experience of daily workflows
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • P&L management experience
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in Journalism
