Job Description


1. Maintains established departmental policies, procedures and objectives including but not limited to departmental and system Quality assurance program, Safety, Environmental and Infection control standards.
2. Requires working knowledge of negotiation of contracts, purchase orders, etc., with hospital suppliers for the Cape Cod Health to ensure ongoing compliance with customer needs, as well as network financial goals and objectives, and Group Purchasing Compliance.
3. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of procedures and regulations relating to the procurement, storage, receiving and distribution of supplies/equipment utilized in an acute care facility.
4. Requires an extremely high level of analytical and organizational skills in order to direct and coordinate network entities, effectively develop staff, develop and monitor budget, short- and long-range planning and solve complex technical and human resource problems to ensure optimal development and maintenance of services.
5. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of compliance with regulatory agencies impacting network materials management activities, and preparation of reports concerning status of activities/concerns in areas of responsibility.
6. Provides effective direction to the Supply Chain Management team, associate training and developmental projects, performance planning, review, and quality control.
7. Researches, develops and with approval administers a Systemwide Supply Chain Management budget for all assigned entities and facilities, providing for the attainment of agreed upon goals and objectives. Ensures compliance with budget guidelines and constraints.
8. Works regularly with Health System Administration in order to identify and resolve problems, coordinate and improve services offered; participates in the planning and implementing of new projects and services, etc.
9. Represents CCHC to a variety of community and professional organizations. Identifies new business and community outreach activities; works with others on their development and implementation.
10. Provides direction in product service research activities, i.e., review of new products/services offered, evaluation of user and network entity needs, costs, delivery dates and other factors in order to maintain a customer oriented, quality and cost-effective supply.
11. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies impacting network materials management activities including purchasing, inventory management, distribution, and linen service operations in an acute healthcare facility.
12. Continually reviews and analyzes the operation of areas of responsibility, ensuring that staff are providing efficient and quality delivery of services while productivity targets are achieved.
13. Stays abreast of competitor offerings, trends, developments and legislation impacting areas of responsibility and communicates understanding of same to staff.
14. Demonstrates an extremely high level of interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external division customers, as needed.
15. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
16. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned.
17. Must be courteous to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
18. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
19. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
20. Challenges current working practices; identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (B.A/B.S.) from a four year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Five to seven years related Healthcare Supply Chain experience at Director level or above; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft Supply Chain Management or equivalent application.
  • Established high level use of all MS/Office systems and tools including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, Project and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
