POSITION SUMMARY The duties and responsibilities of an Events Manager center on planning and running events of varying sizes and purposes. He/she must understand what it takes to ensure event logistics are flawlessly executed upon, maintaining costs within the allocated budget, and confirming that the event is carried out smoothly. The Events Manager is required to network with a wide variety of entities including vendors, venues, and an entire staff in order for an event to function properly. He/She will carry out many tasks on their own, but an aspect of the job is working with a team and ensuring that everyone has what they need to do their job during the event. The Events Manager will also be responsible for keeping costs within the allocated budget, which requires a degree of financial skill. An ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in logistics to properly plan the details, track progress, measure results, and adapt quickly as changes arise.
