DEPARTMENT PURPOSE

The Analytics & Insights (A&I) team\'s purpose is to empower data-driven decision making and strategic innovation for the Vail Resorts Enterprise. POSITION PURPOSE

Vail Resorts is hiring a Senior Marketing Analyst, Enterprise Testing. The goal of the Senior Test & Learn Analyst is to uphold statistical best practices in test design and analysis for stakeholders, ultimately ensuring tests support meaningful business outcomes and optimizations for our Go-To-Market strategy. This is not a role for a developer conducting QA or UAT in front-end or back-end environments.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Testing and support testing across our various line of businesses (e.g. Season Pass, Ski/Ride School, Rentals, and Hospitality). This includes reporting on the effectiveness of tests across our marketing channels, as well as drawing insights to inform future testing in alignment with Go-To-Market planning. Some examples of what this person will do:

  • Partner closely with channel execution teams and line of business leads, serving as the primary analyst on high potential tests supporting our Go-To-Market campaigns:
  • Provide recommendations for test and personalization improvements
  • Monitor performance of live A|B testing across primary marketing audiences and channels
  • Create robust final analysis reports outlining performance across various campaigns and customer attributes
  • Identify optimizations and reporting opportunities for test performance reads
  • Uphold standard operating procedures and partner with Enterprise Testing to optimize testing processes
  • If issues arise (e.g. test driving sharp decrease in engagement), be a point person to investigate and define if test needs to be concluded prior to reaching full statistical significance
  • Support various teams in quantifying revenue impact of tests in end-of-phase and end-of-year recaps.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations to ensure successful project management of the testing program. For example, supporting stakeholders across milestones such as test submission, test prioritization, scoping, etc.
  • Act as a statistics Subject Matter Expert with foundational knowledge on sampling, scoping, and incremental analysis methodology.
  • Adhere to the Test & Learn project management process of leveraging an intake form and Jira to prioritize projects.
  • Work with leadership to support mentorship of Marketing Analysts on the team.
  • Work closely with the Reporting & Data Enablement team to stand up reporting automation opportunities.
Given the cross-functional nature of the organization, it is required this individual excels in stakeholder management and communication.

While the day-to-day of the Senior Marketing Analyst, Enterprise Testing largely focuses on testing in alignment with Go-To-Market support, there are strategic initiatives this person will be involved in to evolve the data maturity of Vail Resorts. This includes (but not limited to) being a thought leader in building new datasets (between our channel and guest data), informing the data strategy when onboarding new technology, and growing the data literacy of the team and the organization.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field (Business Analytics, Statistics, Technology, Economics, Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics) preferred
  • 2-3 years prior marketing campaign analysis with a focus on A/B testing.
  • Experience with experimental design using statistical best practices as well as reporting significance across marketing metrics (e.g. Email Open Rate, Revenue Per Visitor, Return on Ad Spend, Visits vs Visitors, etc.)
  • Experience with 1 or more analytics tools/software (including but not limited to Adobe Analytics / APT / R Studio / Google Analytics) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify marketing return on investment and incremental impact on business results
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; comfortable presenting to and communicating detailed analysis with senior leadership
  • Strong organizational and self-service project management skills are essential. Must be able handle multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate across multiple functions / brands / product lines within the company
  • Natural curiosity in digital marketing and analytical approaches to solving problems
  • Highly collaborative approach and open communication style
  • Familiarity with Vail Resorts, its operations, and key product offerings are helpful
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $82,800 - $106,000 + Annual Bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
