Job Description


The Enterprise Business Architect (EBA) will advance the business architecture practice by leading with an Enterprise mindset for strategy to execution enablement. This role will support strategic planning processes across the growth platforms (US Commercial, Government, Evernorth). The EBA acts as an internal consultant to aligned leaders to develop clarity and understanding of what capabilities are needed to achieve priorities and creates forums for alignment with matrix partners. The EBA is responsible for providing architecture guidance and support such as identifying shared capability impact and opportunities.

The EBA must be able to work in partnership with senior business and IT partners across the organization and facilitate strategic discussions including leading cross-organizational sessions. Additional support may be required to transition to portfolio & delivery.

Strong influencing, executive presence, business architecture, ability to navigate complexity and manage change skills are required.

Major responsibilities and desired results:

Become a trusted advisor to business leaders developing and executing Enterprise strategies.

Act as an internal consultant to Cigna business leaders for new strategy development and connecting Enterprise capability development where applicable e.g. create connections for stakeholders through capability evaluations as cross functional solutions and opportunities are being addressed.

Utilize business architecture methodology and artifacts such as but not limited to strategy on a page, business model canvas, capability placemats, capability alignment and maturity analysis.

Build and manage relationships with strategy and/or business architect teams for Enterprise capability alignment and holistic capability analysis.

Evolve business and strategic architecture practices with matrix partners and execute on related governance including monitoring capability \xe2\x80\x9chot spots.\xe2\x80\x9d

Create and deliver executive communications and capability analysis as needed.

Manage updates and maintain alignment to Enterprise Business Capability Model.

Participate and partner with business and IT matrix partners in Strategic Architecture Planning\xe2\x80\x93 may provide single point of contact support to business leads in targeted areas/strategies.

Partner with matrix partner leaders to monitor gap closure, current and future state of data and technology capability components.

Responsible for continual education to business and matrix partners on business capability framework

Works independently and with management on highly visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects.

Support broader Enterprise Business Architecture teams as needed.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor\'s and/or Master Degree preferred

10+ years of experience in Strategic Planning/Business Architecture

Experience in healthcare industry

Excellent communication/ negotiation skills.

Experience with management consulting and/or in leadership roles preferred

Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels

Qualification:

Works independently and with management on high visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects

Operational understanding and competence of Enterprise business functions and capabilities

Foster collaboration and work effectively across teams to achieve project goals

Adept at influencing and negotiating, with ability to adapt to different styles and approaches using a variety of tactics.

Sound business and technical acumen, preferably with experience in Health Services.

Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure.

Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and accuracy, both verbally and in writing.

Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

This role is subject to the CMS (Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services) COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Full vaccination is required, meaning that workers in this position must have received one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of an mRNA vaccine before the first day of work.
