The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers, CAD designers, field engineers, and technicians to develop, design, and deliver high quality project work. This role combines technical leadership with project and personnel management to ensure that engineering solutions meet our clients requirements, safety standards, and our business growth objectives.
The Engineering Manager is a member of ARK Engineering's Management Team and reports directly to the President.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
Lead, mentor, oversee, and expand our team of engineers and technical staff.
Oversee project assignments, resource planning, and workload balancing.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching and professional development, client follow up, and business development support.
Project Oversight
Manage multiple engineering projects from concept through completion and provide installation support.
Ensure projects meet technical and financial goals, and client satisfaction.
Review and approve design documents, drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including system installation, materials procurement, and business development.
Interface with clients to define requirements, provide technical guidance, and present viable solutions.
Technical Excellence
Provide expert level technical direction on AC / DC interference and corrosion control system designs, analysis, and site surveys.
Develop and maintain engineering standards, templates, and best practices.
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for the engineering department.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or comparable.
8+ years of experience in project management and utility or pipeline industries, or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or managerial role.
Professional Engineer (PE) license and / or MBA degree a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of corrosion control / cathodic protection, AC/DC interference effects and mitigation methods, and electrical grounding and lightning protection systems.
Proficiency in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, MATLAB, CDEGS, etc.)
Excellent communication skills, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Proven track record of leading high performing teams and successful project delivery.
Preferred Experience
Utility - Pipeline - Fuel or Water Storage Facilities:
Cathodic Protection, AC mitigation installations, field testing, maintenance, system commissioning, and reporting.
Product Development:
Corrosion Control, AC mitigation product design and improvements.
