Engineering Services is an important component of the Rapid City Public Works Department, providing development, design, and construction management related to City infrastructure for the City\'s street, storm sewer, water production and distribution, and water reclamation systems. Working closely with Traffic Operations and Geographic Information Systems, Engineering Services is working to grow, maintain, and protect our community through reliable service and sustainable infrastructure.

ABOUT OUR JOB

Do you want to be part of a team of dedicated individuals who are seeking to make Rapid City a great place to work, live, and play? Engineering Services is seeking two passionate Engineers to join their existing teams in Construction and Design. Opportunities are available for experienced engineers, as well as recent graduates. These positions will be responsible for performing Civil Engineering analysis, designing, contract and construction administration and project management of the City projects and programs.

Project Engineers can expect to use their knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a wide range of projects and programs. Staff engineers will working under the direct supervision of a Project Engineer to further their experience and grow their skills. We are looking for an organized and motivated professional that wants to join a hard-working team that shares a commitment to provide top-quality municipal services for Rapid City and Pennington County. We understand your time is valuable, so we encourage you to apply if you possess the following minimum requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree from four-year college or university in Engineering and four years related experience in Civil Engineering tasks.
• Must possess a valid South Dakota driver\'s license or ability to obtain within 30 days from date of hire.
• Project Engineer: Must possess or be able to obtain South Dakota Professional Engineer (PE) License within one year from date of hire.
