Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Emergency Vehicle
Technician
to join our busy service and repair facility, As an EVT, you will responsible for the timely completion of assigned repair, warranty, and preventive maintenance on emergency vehicles
As an Emergency Vehicle Technician, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, assisting other technicians as needed, and projecting a professional and competent environment.
The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with customers and supervisors, as well as work independently.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair vehicles coming into the shop
Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as pump testing and chassis services
Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, fire pumps, and electrical systems
Must be able to work after hours including emergency call out for breakdowns as needed.
Completes service-related paperwork at the completion of assigned project or at the conclusion of the shift using the FULLBAY service program
Assist in delivery and conduct in-service training of new vehicles to customer locations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required
Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification, Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification, or EVT Certifications are preferred
Valid NYS Driver's License - must meet insurance underwriting requirements, Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 90 days of hire (if not already possessed).
* NYS Inspectors License for Heavy Vehicles must also be obtained within 120 days of hire (if not already possessed).
