General Description

Grant funded, part-time (21 hours/week), position that oversees planning, training and readiness for response to all types of public health emergencies. Reports to Director of Health or designee.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for development and maintenance of local emergency response plans Participate in relevant emergency preparedness committees and attend trainings as necessary Responsible for developing and executing staff trainings, drills and exercises for emergency preparedness Prepare grant applications, progress reports and contract deliverables Respond to emergencies as needed Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Duties

May be required to attend night meetings and work evenings and weekends. Participate in public health programming, professional education, and training.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in public health, emergency preparedness, or a closely related field and two or more years of related experience. Planning background and emergency response orientation desirable. Hold a current valid motor vehicle operator's license and have a motor vehicle that can be utilized for FVHD business.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

General knowledge of public health and emergency response Ability to communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing Exceptional organizational skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Computer proficiency required in the areas of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher Knowledge of causes, methods of transmission and control of infection disease
Starting salary, depending on skills and experience, $30,576 - $39,312 (21 hours/week).
