Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Electro-Optical (EO) Engineer for an exciting Orlando, FL position!

The Electro-Optic (EO) Analyst will support multiple program and IRAD activities within the Special Programs business area. The EO Analyst must have experience in radiometric EO analysis and simulation. The EO Analyst will develop target models and conduct parametric studies to support advanced EO targeting sensor and IRST concepts. EO related trade studies and development activities will require basic knowledge of optics design and the ability to perform first order EO system level design.
This position requires operational knowledge of and experience running MODTRAN.

The engineer must have an active SECRET security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform some combination of the following Electro-Optical Engineering assignments:

  • Demonstrate knowledge or experience of EO consisting of advanced optical/infrared material and coatings.
  • Demonstrate experience with EO consisting state of the art sensors and advanced laser . Demonstrate knowledge or experience in radiometric EO analysis and simulation.
  • Perform design and analysis of EO candidate for both ground and airborne sensor suite applications.
  • Demonstrate an ability to define and/or access and utilize target threat signatures in EO modeling. Demonstrate the ability to utilize when running EO performance analysis simulations or developing target models.
  • Conduct parametric studies to support advanced EO targeting sensor and seeker development.
  • Perform design trade studies and system verification analyses to optimize candidate system performance, cost, size, and weight.
  • Model design solutions that can be fabricated for laboratory tests and characterization prior to development.
  • Perform design and specification of instrumentation for integrated system-level tower and field testing.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active SECRET security clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with image processing algorithms for image enhancement and detection.
  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master\'s degree.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
