The associate at this level applies a solid foundation of engineering experience to solving increasingly more difficult assignments, managing multiple priorities, and leveraging known resources (with minimal amounts of direct supervision). The types of problems include existing product, new products, and/or as-yet-undeveloped ideas that begin to focus more on system or sub-system solutions rather than component-specific problems. This work is performed on multifunctional development teams.
Essential Job Functions
Soldering experience, electronics failure analysis, electronic repair experience, and knowledge of IPC standards.
Tests complete electronic systems, products/product families of large scope for products ranging from simple products to complex systems.
Reviews and analyzes test data, prepares graphs or charts and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Creates and implements test plans to ensure products meet defined quality standards.
Supports and/or audits manufacturing and assembly activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design specifications and customer expectations.
Investigates and solves problems that affect scrap, safety, warranty/reliability, and product cost for new and/or existing products.
Practices use of New Product Development processes and methods, engineering tools, and related industry standards as required.
Designs and implements robust solutions to reduce equipment downtime and to make equipment safe, through collaboration with engineering and operations.
Integrates equipment for process improvements and new automation projects.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required and 5-8 years' experience in a related field, or AE/AEET/Vocational School in Electronics and 2-5 years' experience in a related field.
Solid electronic engineering experience; tests components and systems with little supervisory technical oversight.
Experience and knowledge working with electromechanical types of components and/or subsystems.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of appropriate industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong working knowledge of schematics and electronic design standards, able to fully understand PCB documentation packages with no assistance.
Strong understanding of different manufacturing methods and ability to produce feasible design solutions for multi-component assemblies with minimal engineering oversight.
Experience handling moderately complex engineering issues and problems.
Presentation skills that allow for the effective communication of project status and product issues.
Ability and experience handling complex issues and problems.
Strong understanding of control systems and industrial automation.
