Summary:
Responsible for electrical and electronic maintenance of the production equipment in accordance with national electrical and city electrical codes to ensure maximum availability of this equipment to the users.
What you will do:
Perform industrial electrical and electronic repair on all production and related equipment to high standard of quality
Troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic systems on all production and related equipment to component level
Abide by company policies, including personnel, labor and safety policies
Assist, recommend or provide training and development of technical abilities to apprentice personnel
Perform electrical repairs in accordance with National Electric Code guidelines
Determine and make recommendations in the case of failures as to the continued safe operation of electrical systems and / or equipment
Read, understand and use complex industrial electrical and electronic schematics, blueprints and equipment manuals
The electricians has the authority to make any decisions and to take any action not contrary to company policies, necessary to achieve timely and quality production from the production equipment. However, without the approval of the Maintenance Manager, may not:
Change any established Company policies or procedures
Enter into a personal relationship with any employee in a manner that might have or appear to have any adverse effects on the ability to abide by company policies, including personnel, labor and safety polices
Authorize repairs by an outside vendor
Commit the company to any expenditure, dispose or any asset or sign contract or agreement
What you will bring:
Completed a technical training program and possess a minimum of five years of industrial electrical experience
Must be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and work from complex electrical schematics and repair manuals
Must possess a good working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Improper maintenance can impact the reliability of the inserters and or press support equipment to perform the amount of production needed for the day, which impacts successive operations, ultimately leading to late delivery of the Chicago Tribune to circulation and possibly to the customer
