Summary
Full-time position available to oversee the educational component of infant/toddler and pre-school classrooms to ensure that federal and state standards and licensing requirements are met.
Duties
Primary responsibilities include: 1) monitoring lesson plans and assisting with development of curriculum, 2) support and supervision of teaching staff, 3) classroom observations, 4) implementation of Head Start, School Readiness, Day Care and NAEYC standards, 5) review of files, 6) ensuring adequate coverage to maintain appropriate ratios, 7) recruiting and training classroom substitutes, 8) orientation and training of classroom staff and volunteers, 9) assisting with NAEYC accreditation. 10) assisting with the planning and running of staff meetings and events, 11) tracking developmental and behavior screenings, and 12) collecting and submitting data for reports.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Bachelor\'s degree in Early Childhood Education and 5+ years relevant experience with at least 2+ years of supervisory experience. Successful candidate must possess the following: 1) strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, 2) thorough understanding of early childhood development, 3) knowledge of state licensing standards, 4) experience with NAEYC accreditation, and 5) solid computer skills. Knowledge of Head Start performance standards is a plus.
