About the Position (Position Summary)
The Developmental Specialist provides individualized early intervention services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. This role focuses on promoting children's cognitive, social-emotional, communication, adaptive, and physical development through home-based and community-based sessions. The Developmental Specialist partners closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to create supportive learning environments and foster meaningful progress aligned with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field
Nevada Department of Education Endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education (or eligibility to obtain within three years of hire)
Experience in early intervention or working with young children with developmental delays or special needs
Knowledge of child development and family-centered practices
Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Requirements
Successful completion of background and motor vehicle record (MVR) checks
Maintain HIPAA, FERPA, and cybersecurity training annually
Maintain CPR-BLS certification (every 2 years)
Maintain compliance with Nevada Part C and IDEA requirements
Maintain access to reliable transportation for home and community visits
Participate in required staff meetings, supervision, and professional development
Duties
Conduct developmental screenings and assessments to identify areas of concern
Develop and implement individualized intervention plans aligned with IFSP goals
Deliver home-based and community-based sessions to support developmental growth
Coach and support caregivers in implementing strategies during daily routines
Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., service coordinators, SLPs, OTs, PTs, BCBAs) on interdisciplinary teams
Document progress and maintain accurate and timely records in early intervention databases
Monitor progress toward developmental goals and adjust plans as needed
Participate in IFSP meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Services provided primarily in home and community settings
Frequent driving required; mileage reimbursement provided
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor with children
Occasional lifting/carrying of items up to 50 pounds
Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks and documentation

Compliance and Training Requirements
Maintain required state certifications and endorsements
Complete HIPAA, FERPA, and cybersecurity training annually
Complete Aspire onboarding and early intervention-specific training modules
Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and quality assurance reviews
Maintain adherence to Nevada Part C, IDEA, and Aspire documentation and service delivery standards
Performance Metrics
Timeliness and accuracy of assessments, intervention plans, and documentation
Measurable progress on IFSP goals and child developmental outcomes
Caregiver engagement and satisfaction with services
Compliance with Nevada Part C and Aspire policies
Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
Active participation in training, meetings, and professional development
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
