Job Overview

The DSW Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in a home community setting. This position focuses on assisting clients with their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve, particularly individuals with disabilities or dementia.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and engaging environment. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the client's living space, promoting a safe and hygienic environment. Support clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring as required. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, including specialized care for those with dementia or other disabilities. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences of the clients. Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

Previous experience in home community care or similar caregiving roles is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to lift and assist clients as needed while maintaining proper body mechanics for safety. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is a plus. A compassionate attitude toward caregiving and a commitment to enhancing client quality of life is essential.
