Overview

We're looking for a dependable, animal-loving Dog Bather / Assistant Groomer Helper to join our growing team.

The position is perfect for someone who loves dogs, works hard, and wants to learn the grooming trade in a supportive environment. This is a physically and mentally demanding job -- you'll be on your feet most of the day, lifting and handling dogs of all sizes, and helping keep the shop running smoothly.

It's hard work, but incredibly rewarding for someone who truly loves animals and wants to grow in the grooming industry.

Responsibilities

Bathe and dry dogs of various breeds and sizes Brush coats, clean ears, and trim nails as needed Maintain a clean and organized grooming area Assist groomers with prep work and handling dogs safely Provide gentle, loving care to every pet in your care

Duties

Perform grooming services including bathing, clipping, nail trimming, and ear cleaning for various breeds of dogs and other pets. Assess each pet's grooming needs and communicate effectively with pet owners regarding services provided. Handle animals safely and compassionately, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff. Provide additional services such as dog training, pet sitting, or animal care as needed. Build strong relationships with clients through excellent customer service and communication skills. Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques and trends in pet care.

Qualifications

Must be out of high school (18+) Reliable and punctual for morning shifts (8 AM - 12 PM) Comfortable working around dogs of all temperaments and sizes No prior grooming experience required -- we'll train the right person! Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential.
