Leidos is on the hunt for a Distribution Designer who is passionate about electric utility design engineering. We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You\'ll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos\' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained.

This role involves local travel; Candidates must be located in or around New Hampshire and Massachusetts in order to provide support to our utility client as needed.

As a Distribution Designer, You can expect to:

  • Assist in design engineering packages for Leidos electric utility customers
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned.
  • Review engineering design packages with clients
  • Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
  • Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
  • Be comfortable in both a field and office setting; a portion of your time may be spent outdoors
  • Utilize your personal vehicle: this role will require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages
What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):
  • A minimum of 4 years of directly relevant prior experience working with an electric utility or electric utility consulting company performing distribution design work
  • Ability to provide your own reliable transportation, as local, customer-related travel is required (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates).
  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, as some customer/site visits are anticipated
  • Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
We prefer candidates who have some previous experience with:
  • Experience with projects in distribution design: using medium voltage switchgear, voltage conversion projects, distribution automation projects
  • Experience with development of civil & electrical packages associated with complex cable/conduit in dense urban environments
  • CAD tools
  • Geographic Information Systems
  • The National Electric Safety Code (NESC)

Pay Range: Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
