With direction from the Operations Manager and General Manager, a Dispatcher is a full-time, hourly position responsible for ensuring the daily coverage for freight across 50 company-owned and leased units.
Duties include answering telephone calls from our customers and drivers, communicating changes and instructions to drivers, entering load information into internal software programs, and managing driver routes and schedules.
Candidates will be expected to cross-train between both dispatching and other administrative duties.
Ideal candidates are highly driven, skilled at multi-tasking, have excellent communication and organization skills, remain calm under pressure, have excellent computer skills, and quickly learn new software programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent Customer Service Skills and Interpersonal Skills.
Excellent Computer & Technology skills, including the entire Microsoft office suite.
Ability to learn new skills, systems, and software.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
High attention to detail.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preference is given to candidates with 2+ years of dispatch experience
JOB DUTIES:
Communicating with shipper, consignee, and drivers.
Ensure employees report to work as scheduled and complete and file paperwork.
Must possess strong computer aptitude and be able to learn various software to use while dispatching.
Observe and track route timing via Motive ELD software; help to maintain compliance by tracking and observing driver hours of service and equipment inspections.
Assist in developing routes and schedules when necessary.
Report concerns, violations, or issues to the Operations Manager or Safety Director.
Assist the shop in scheduling maintenance and repair of vehicles.
Work closely with Operations, Safety, Fleet Maintenance departments.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly position with an expectation of 45-50 hour workweeks depending on needs
