BASIC FUNCTION:
  • With direction from the Operations Manager and General Manager, a Dispatcher is a full-time, hourly position responsible for ensuring the daily coverage for freight across 50 company-owned and leased units.
  • Duties include answering telephone calls from our customers and drivers, communicating changes and instructions to drivers, entering load information into internal software programs, and managing driver routes and schedules.
  • Candidates will be expected to cross-train between both dispatching and other administrative duties.
  • Ideal candidates are highly driven, skilled at multi-tasking, have excellent communication and organization skills, remain calm under pressure, have excellent computer skills, and quickly learn new software programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Excellent Computer & Technology skills, including the entire Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to learn new skills, systems, and software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preference is given to candidates with 2+ years of dispatch experience
JOB DUTIES:
  • Communicating with shipper, consignee, and drivers.
  • Ensure employees report to work as scheduled and complete and file paperwork.
  • Must possess strong computer aptitude and be able to learn various software to use while dispatching.
  • Observe and track route timing via Motive ELD software; help to maintain compliance by tracking and observing driver hours of service and equipment inspections.
  • Assist in developing routes and schedules when necessary.
  • Report concerns, violations, or issues to the Operations Manager or Safety Director.
  • Assist the shop in scheduling maintenance and repair of vehicles.
  • Work closely with Operations, Safety, Fleet Maintenance departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Completion of all responsibilities as listed above in a timely, safe, ethical, and organized manner.
  • Accurate, timely, and complete documentation is maintained at all times.
  • Effective utilization of all available resources.
  • Supervisor, employee, contractor, and customer satisfaction and quality of the product.

  • Continued proficiency and productivity to meet Company expectations and standards.

SCHEDULE:
  • Hourly position with an expectation of 45-50 hour workweeks depending on needs
  • In and out times to be negotiated with Operations Manager.
  • Day shift.
  • Monday to Friday.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Dispatching: 1 year
  • Customer Service or Sales: 2 years
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year Benefits:
