GWO Trucking and Construction is an expanding family-owned dump truck and construction operation started in 2013. About the Role
We are currently seeking a dispatcher with knowledge of, or interests in learning the trucking and construction industry. Our dispatcher role is a fast paced, problem-solving role whose primary job is to connect semi dump trucks with customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs. The ideal candidate will be an early riser with a focus on sales and service. Previous experience with semi-trucks and dispatching owner operators strongly preferred. The position will report directly to the company\xe2\x80\x99s owners and will be critical in completing daily dispatching operations.

  • 2 years of experience with diesel vehicles and/or dispatching.
  • An ability to understand and implement processes and procedures
  • Works well with a team

  • Strong negotiation skills
Job Duties

  • Dispatch drivers, brokers and negotiate material costs based on customer requests.
  • Keep company and subcontracted trucks moving and profitable.
  • Manage billing process.
  • Assist management with strategies to attract new subcontractors.
  • Assist with responses to RFPs and Bids
  • Call suppliers to find and negotiate pricing
  • Coordinate with suppliers and trucks to deliver and haul material.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with brokers, customs, suppliers, and mechanics
  • Problem solving any driver maintenance complaints.
  • Typical work schedule* 50 Hours \xe2\x80\x93 5am-3pm M-F, Saturday as needed
  • Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions.
  • Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries.
  • Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance.
