Job Description

Java Kai in K?lauea is seeking a dedicated and energetic Dishwasher/Busser to join our team in a fast-paced cafe environment. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen and dining areas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and hospitality, ensuring that our guests enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Must be available to work Thursday-Sunday. Shifts run from 7am-3pm.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment to maintain cleanliness standards. Properly utilize dishwasher and maintain awareness of appropriate dish chemical levels. Assist with bussing tables by clearing dishes and silverware and wiping tables clean. Sort and stack clean dishes in an organized fashion. Return dishes to their proper locations once washed. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas by sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash. Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure safety and quality of food served.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with food safety practices is advantageous. Experience in bussing, cleaning, or culinary roles will be considered a plus. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment. Ability to communicate effectively and follow supervisor direction. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
