This role will support the senior management team that is developing, constructing and operating large scale offshore wind projects which will provide affordable, clean energy and will have a transformational impact on local communities. Avangrid Renewables\' offshore business is located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Purpose

This role will lead the Offshore O&M Contracts Team, responsible for defining contracting strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating and managing multi-million offshore Service contracts. This role will be responsible for managing contractual & commercial risks and seek out opportunities to optimize and drive the performance of the service maintenance agreements.

The role requires individual to manage multi-disciplinary teams and manage elements of work with responsibility for all commercial aspects of project strategy, control and delivery ensuring value to the Company is maximised within acceptable risk parameters.

The individual will be working as part of the Offshore Operations organization and the position may require travel to various locations in the US and overseas.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Manage the team responsible for the delivery of the substantial contractual service agreements for large scale offshore windfarm projects to be operated across US.

\xc2\xb7 Define and implement the O&M contract strategy for the project\'s readiness and for the operational sites.

\xc2\xb7 Define, implement and resource the appropriate organisation structure for managing the service maintenance agreements.

\xc2\xb7 Lead the review, optimisation and negotiation of contracts and especially Service and Maintenance Agreement (SMA) for the Turbines and BoP.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure alignment between Supply Agreements & SMA to reduce contractual interface risk;

\xc2\xb7 Lead the drafting and negotiation of technical annexes with technical teams by providing a commercial view;

\xc2\xb7 Manage the asset and equipment warranties with OEMs and suppliers and lead management of claims and variations with SMA contractors;

\xc2\xb7 Provide key and strategic commercial advice, assessment and recommendations to the business providing key knowledge, lessons learned and support to the substantial contracts throughout the whole life cycle (development to decommissioning) to support the business plan delivery

\xc2\xb7 Prepare recommendations on the management of key commercial risks, while taking into account the impact on interfaces across contracts and impact on programme;
\xc2\xb7 Monitor and anticipate claims made by contractors under the contracts and be responsible for developing mitigation strategies in line with the contract terms;
\xc2\xb7 Analyse the key risks in new contracts and assistance in providing recommendations for changes required to provide the interests of the projects;
\xc2\xb7 Ensure Avangrid best practices and processes are implemented and applied in contract management ensuring involvement and coordination with key company functions such as Purchasing, Insurance, Financial, Legal, etc.
\xc2\xb7 Create the Commercial Strategy to identify and implement initiatives to:
\xc2\xb7 Improve the way offshore projects are designed for operations.
\xc2\xb7 Strengthen the commercial performance of sites across Avangrid offshore portfolio.
\xc2\xb7 Form productive relationships with key service providers; liaising with them to ensure the development of the supply chain and services of the highest quality

Skills and Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Engineering, contract management degree or equivalent

\xc2\xb7 Proven experience of negotiating and/or managing service contracts;

\xc2\xb7 A solid understanding of the complex commercial requirements related to supply of products/materials and services to offshore wind projects;

\xc2\xb7 High degree of competency in future planning. Proven experience in delivery and contracting management and programming.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in offshore windfarms

\xc2\xb7 Experience in leading tendering processes, contract negotiations and detailed commercial delivery contracts.

\xc2\xb7 Detailed contractual knowledge, including the day-to-day operational provisions, and particularly the claims, variations and disputes mechanisms;

\xc2\xb7 Strong self-performance management and delivery focus with the ability to balance conflicting requirements on quality, costs and time;

\xc2\xb7 Strong team worker;

\xc2\xb7 Proactive people manager, leader and motivator.

\xc2\xb7 Sound relationship management skills and confidence working with Senior Management.

\xc2\xb7 Good all round understanding of financial, commercial and business principles and risk mitigation practices;

\xc2\xb7 Strong influencing, interpersonal and change management skills;

\xc2\xb7 Strong negotiating and persuasion skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills;

\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to persuade, challenge and build credibility at all levels and across functions of the business;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to be proactive and take responsibility for matters, while responding to competing business demands;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work, manage teams and manage decision making process under pressure and to tight deadlines

\xc2\xb7 Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

\xc2\xb7 Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications as a minimum..
