About the Department

The mission of the NC State University Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic, and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. NC State Football program is a Division 1A FBS program within the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Essential Job Duties

Assist the General manager with evaluation of the current roster, monitoring & evaluation of
the transfer portal and execution of advance scouting reports.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Advance research, development and strategies in the areas of player identification & evaluation
  • Scouting and roster building/management with focus on transfer portal players
  • Transfer portal identification, organization, player evaluations, communicating details and providing recommendations of priority prospects to General Manager, Head Coach, and Assistant Coaches
  • Creation and utilization of databases, video libraries, research, and team analysis to help in both recruiting and in-season competition
  • Coordinate the maintenance of accurate recruiting profiles on top portal targets - athletic data - measurables - background information
  • Maintain transfer portal boards of best available players
  • Evaluation of players on the NC State roster, ACC rosters & other relevant college rosters to analyze and identify strengths, weaknesses & trends
  • Pre-season summary and weekly in-season creation of an Advance Scouting Report to create an introductory snapshot of an upcoming opponent
  • Assist with planning and overall execution of Pro Day
  • Coordinate with the Assistant DPP for Offense & Defense along with Director of Recruiting Logistics and Analytics regarding transfer portal & advance scouting projects
  • Coordinate & execute Scout School programming to onboard and train interns & student assistants
  • Assist with all recruiting events (official/unofficial visits, junior days, camps, etc)
  • Any other duties assigned by the General Manager
  • Follow all compliance related rules of NC State University, NCAA & the ACC
Other Responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned by Administration
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a bachelor\'s degree required with experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Collegiate or Professional football program.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Must understand and implement all NCAA rules around the recruitment of prospects to NC State. Must have a high level of understanding and execution of these rules.
  • Computer literacy and expertise
  • Technical football knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of football-related experience preferred
  • Prior experience working with Division 1 Collegiate or Professional Football program.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
  • A valid NC driver\'s license or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of start date is required. Must be maintained as a condition of employment.
