PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Leads a team to fulfil the needs of the organization related to meetings, events and trade shows. Serves as a strategic leader to provide operational excellence across the company related to business processes, budget and schedule tracking and achievement of goals within the events. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides strategic leadership of the company\'s meetings, conferences, and trade shows.

  • Leads operational efforts to complete the administration of business processes and services to ensure the operations effective achievement of goals within events.

  • Directs and controls the broad activities of Marketing & Communications (M&C) through the interpretation, application, and implementation of companywide policies and procedures relevant to events.

  • Ensures that budgets and schedules are within company requirements with significant organizational responsibility for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and the recommendation and implementation of current practices.

  • Directs the activities of the events team, which include researching events needs within the organization.

  • Works with marketing and senior management to develop and update events strategies that support key product and service line growth and profitability objectives.

  • Leads the development and ongoing revision of national and regional event strategies that support corporate and divisional objectives; executes against these plans on time and within budget.

  • Drives talent management activities within the events organization.

  • Develops metrics to enable key stakeholders to understand, evaluate, and make decisions regarding progress in key areas of responsibility.

  • Interacts with all organizational levels to manage the spectrum of operations related to events.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:
  • May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Marketing and Communications staff.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree; Advanced Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • 6+ years\' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years\' experience as a Manager; or 3+ years\' experience in a senior managerial role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven strategic and analytic insight to develop strategic and tactical marketing plans to support corporate goals.
  • Event budget management experience.
  • Project planning, management, and implementation skills.
  • Strategic planning skills.
