Director, Data Engineering, Analytics & Performance Insights
Do you enjoy supporting data architecture to enable business and support partners the ability to improve the associate, leader and customer experience? The Director, Data Engineering, Analytics & Performance Insights supports the Brokerage Client Services Analytics and Wealth Distribution Analytics organizations by supporting the data infrastructure that makes those insights possible.
The location of this position is flexible. We would consider many of our Regional Center office locations including Westlake TX, Salt Lake City UT, Greenwood Village, CO, Smithfield RI, Merrimack NH, or Covington KY.
The Expertise We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
3-5 years of hands-on experience working with SQL or Data Engineering
Solid experience in writing complex SQL queries on Oracle (PL/SQL) and Snowflake
Prior experience with CI/CD processes, cloud and Big Data concepts and tools (AWS, RDS, Data Lake, Snowflake)
Hands-on experience with performance optimization and tunning approaches, SQL tuning.
Experience working with large data sets
Experience with ETL strategies, design, and development
Familiarity with Postgres, R, Python, Shell Scripting
The Purpose of Your Role
As a Director, Data Engineering, you'll work alongside a team of data engineers and application developers who develop data solutions to support our analysts who provide insights to associates, leaders and home office executives. You have a passion for coaching and mentoring and building relationships with peers and business partners. You also have deep expertise in data modeling, scale and innovation. You will collaborate with other teams and guide, influence the strategic decisions, and help build solutions to scale our business. This will involve monitoring data workflows hydrating the data lake and building out data marts using structured data and unstructured data to support operational metrics and analytics. You will look across our environment to ensure that data is flowing in the most efficient way that leverages our technology investments and the skills of our analysts. You will partner across teams to ensure that data is clean, complete and accurate enough to support near-time analytics and diagnostics across our channels and AI-ready for future use cases.

You can create and maintain infrastructure and training documentation
You have deep experience with database design and modeling techniques as well as Alteryx or similar tools. Python experience is helpful
Data quality mind set and knowledge of techniques to ensure data quality
You have a good understanding of AWS compute and database services
You have good database programming skills in Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL skills.
Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins, etc.
Passionate and open to learning new tools and developing with the latest technologies and frameworks.

Actively participating in knowledge sharing sessions, code, and design reviews etc.

The Data Engineer, Analytics & Performance Insights is part of Fidelity's Brokerage group, specifically within the Strategy, Planning & Enablement Team. We provide holistic reporting and analytics support to the Brokerage Client Services organization. The base salary range for this position is $126,000-$212,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
