Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with diverse needs, fostering their independence and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will involve assisting clients in daily activities, promoting social engagement, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Hours available:

Weekday hours 2pm to 10pm at a male home

Thursday through Sunday 2pm to 10pm at a female home

Monday through Friday 6am to 9am at a female home

Monday through Friday 6am to 9am at a male home

Weekend hours from 9am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm at male and female home

Weekend hours from 10am to 6pm at male home

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal care. Provide support for individuals with autism, dementia, and other developmental disabilities. Facilitate social interactions and community involvement for clients. Monitor client behavior and health, providing patient observation as needed. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Maintain a clean and safe living environment in group homes or assisted living settings. Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to supervisors. Collaborate with other professionals in the fields of social work, senior care, long-term care, and memory care to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements

Experience or training in working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of assisted living practices and dementia care is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role. Previous experience in group home settings or similar environments is a plus.
