Dsp (direct Support Professional)
Job Description
Seeking a life coach/ direct support professional/community habilitation Staff member to join our program and dedicated support team for a young man with autism who lives with his family in the Mill Basin section of Brooklyn.
Our ideal candidate has experience working with neurodivergent people and can develop and implement a program to have our focus person out in the community and making progress on target goals that include: independent living skills, community integration and socialization, health and fitness and communication.
Our focus person recently graduated high school and has great potential. He is verbal and easy to work with. He is interested in many age appropriate things including sports and friends.
We are looking for someone who is available weekdays, during the day, and has a car as our focus person will be attending classes and accessing the community to work on his goals.
Hours are somewhat flexible. Salary is paid through a non-profit Brooklyn based agency. Staff candidates will be fingerprinted and put through the standard background checks. $30 per hour/ Paid Time Off/Great team!
