Responsibilities
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor residents' health status by observing patient conditions and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations, ensuring proper documentation
Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met
Provide personal care in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers
Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties and proper sanitation practices
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences
Document observations accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and family members
Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid or CPR when necessary
Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
Qualifications
Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care preferred
Knowledge of patient observation care of individual living with developmental disabilities.
Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA training preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications required for employment
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
Ability to lift heavy loads safely (heavy lifting) and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals in their daily lives
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; patience and adaptability required for working with diverse populations
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with active auto insurance.
Ability to pass a BCI/FBI background check (no disqualifying offenses).
8-hour provider training and additional DODD-required trainings (agency will assist with completing).
Reliable, patient, compassionate, and able to work independently.
