Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them in daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their rights are respected. This position requires a commitment to patient care and a passion for working with individuals in a home or community setting.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Monitor and document patient progress and changes in behavior or health status. Provide caregiving support while respecting resident rights and promoting independence. Engage clients in social, recreational, and community activities to enhance their quality of life. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Lift and assist clients as needed to ensure their safety and comfort. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Provide first aid as necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and home care practices is highly desirable. Strong caregiving skills with the ability to lift and assist clients safely. Familiarity with resident rights and advocacy within home community care settings. Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work 12 hour shifts. Working Nights. Work every other weekend.
