Abilities Midwest is currently hiring for a part-time Residential Program Staff (also known as a

Direct Care Staff or Direct Care Professional) . Staff will support adults with Prader Willi syndrome at an adult family home (group home) in Watertown, WI.

Job Duties:

Residential Program Staff are primarily responsible for assisting our residents with ADLs (activities of daily living). The residents you will be supporting have limited hands-on needs, so you will mainly be providing verbal prompting for most ADLs. Our residents are active and enjoy going on outings, playing games, working out, and being positive members of their community.

Encourage community involvement by accompanying residents to a variety of community activities including, but not limited to - restaurants, sports games, movies, shopping, plays, and more! Provide cues to remind and encourage residents to complete household chores & personal care needs Implement reward systems and provide praise to residents Follow care plans, contribute to discussions on resident progress & future care plan goals Provide accurate documentation using our online care management system Promote choice, personal growth, and independence for residents - within their home and in the community Communicate effectively with other team members, encourage an upbeat work environment for all
RPS will work alongside other Residential Program Staff, in addition to working under the supervision of our managerial team. Abilities Midwest strives to ensure a welcoming & positive work environment - where our staff can enjoy coming to work each shift!

Schedule:

Abilities Midwest allows for consistent, flexible scheduling based on employee preference and company shift availability. We are currently looking for part-time evening coverage throughout the week and every other weekend. *Potential for full-time in the future.

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience

Prior experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred and other applicable experience will also be considered.

This is a great job for students in related fields such as Social Work, Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, and Nursing. However, skills learned in this line of work can be applied in many different areas.
