What will you be doing?

Assist with daily living skills (e.g. lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking, etc.) Implementing my individual plan, outcomes, goals, and strategies Working as a team member Monitoring me to ensure my health and safety in regards to medical, behavioral, and environmental issues Plan, assist and participate in community outings with me (recreational activities, vacations, visiting friends and family, shopping, church, etc.) Maintain my living environment for health and safety Administer and record medication Accompany me on medical appointments and assist me while at appointments, as well as medical emergencies Complete all required trainings and continue learning

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D Related experience preferred working with a person with developmental disabilities, stroke clients, and autism Experience in personal support, therapeutic recreation, human services, and nursing Required to complete all employee paperwork and trainings- first aid, CPR, CMT, and Mant trainings Have a valid drivers license with an approved clean driving record Must be independent and self directed individual Have excellent oral and written communication Be willing to learn new things and understand how to meet my needs
Seeking a proactive and well-organized person to provide community integration support for a fun and active woman in Ocean Pines, MD. Must enjoy engaging in a variety of community activities. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to helping people with developmental disabilities engage in their community and realize their potential. Be able to provide personal care. Flexible hours- weekdays, evenings, and weekend hours available.

College coursework in special education, therapeutic recreation, and behavioral science preferred. Have 1 year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.

Must be able to drive an accessible van and have an excellent driving record. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have or be willing to obtain CPR/ First Aid and CMT certification.

Skills

First aid and CPR certification are highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer's care is preferred. Strong patient observation skills to monitor changes in client health or behavior effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. Familiarity with home care practices, including medication administration and patient monitoring. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Knowledge of caregiving techniques in nursing homes or long-term care settings is beneficial. Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality support services.
