Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide care and support to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those they care for.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Monitor and document changes in residents' health or behavior
- Implement individualized care plans and ensure the safety and well-being of each resident
- Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote independence and community integration
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Ability to provide patient observation, monitoring, and assistance as needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with disabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- DSP and CPI Training (an additional plus)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
