Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Desk Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate repair estimates to both insurance companies and prospective customers. Follow up on submitted scopes to answer questions, submit additional information, and secure approved scopes. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards, ultimately contributing to the successful delivery of construction projects. Responsibilities

Review estimates/ photo reports created by the field estimator to confirm overall accuracy. Utilize estimating software such as Xactimate and Albiware to prepare and submit detailed repair estimates. Collaborate with field estimators, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers and insurance adjusters to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms. Analyze project scope changes and update estimates accordingly to reflect current project requirements. Conduct cost control assessments throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budgets are maintained. Assist in supplemental estimates to the insurance to help project managers secure additional funds from the insurance. Maintain organized records of all submitted estimates, documents, correspondence, and revisions for future reference.

Qualifications

Preferred (but not required) experience in construction estimating, with familiarity using Xactimate and Albiware software tools. Strong understanding of construction processes, site operations, and project management principles. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing while safeguarding project interests. Knowledge of contracts, scope management, and cost control techniques within the construction industry. Hands-on construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand field conditions impacting estimates. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents accurately. Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present detailed estimates clearly. Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
