The Medical Staff Department Secretary reports to the Director of Medical Staff Services, and provides support to the Director and the Medical Staff.

Responsibilities
Answer incoming phone calls, distribute incoming mail, process physician verifications hospital affiliations, maintain accurate filing system, maintain office supplies - ordering/receiving, and assist medical staff manager/director. Distribute monthly meeting notices and copy packets/materials for meetings
Maintain the licensure expirables and monthly reports.
Duties as assigned o Photocopy approved privileges for distribution in privilege binders and keep binders accurate
Assist Credentials Coordinator prepare credential binders for new applicants
Assist in preparing outgoing mailings
Assist medical staff coordinators in preparing for meetings, i.e. Photocopying and distributing packets
Enter attendance following each CME programo
Updates Echo, credentialing software program to insure information is accurate at all timeso
Manages Governing Board follow-up, letters, updating Echo, privilege sheets
Required:
Experience in a Medical Staff Office preferred.
Strong written /English communication skills, word processing (Windows), dictation, medical terminology Excellent customer relations skills.
Ability to work independently,
use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Previous secretarial experience required.
High School Graduate or GED
