Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment for surgical procedures.
Assist dentists during various surgeries such as extractions, implant placements, and periodontal treatments by providing chairside support.
Ensure proper aseptic technique and infection control practices are followed consistently to maintain a safe environment.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and other medical imaging, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including documenting vital signs and medical history.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and handling medical coding requirements.
Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer their questions with clarity and professionalism.
Maintain the cleanliness of the clinic, sterilize instruments, and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to ensure smooth workflow during procedures.
Assist with taking informed consent, checking patients vitals and goong over post op instructions
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required
Proficiency with dental assisting tools, chairside assisting techniques, and understanding of dental terminology is essential.
Familiarity with DSN for managing medical records and documentation is advantageous.
Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures is required to uphold safety standards.
Experience with X-ray technology--including digital imaging and 3D scanners--is beneficial for supporting diagnostic processes.
Strong understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields such as periodontics and oral surgery
