We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deli Manager to oversee daily operations of our deli department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food quality and safety, maintaining inventory, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a passion for the food industry. The Deli Manager will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment that promotes teamwork and operational excellence within a fast-paced food service setting.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise deli staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating team members to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards.
Oversee food preparation, ensuring quality, freshness, and presentation meet established standards.
Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales processing.
Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times.
Coordinate shift management, ensuring smooth daily operations during assigned hours.
Implement customer service protocols to enhance guest satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.
Assist in budgeting, cost control, and overall food management to meet financial goals.
Supervise kitchen operations including food production, catering services, and banquets when applicable.
Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, training, and leadership development.
Skills
Extensive experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or restaurant management within quick service or casual dining environments.
Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
Leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience in hospitality or food service industries.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
Experience in inventory control, budgeting, and cost management within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Ability to train staff effectively and develop team members' skills through ongoing training & development initiatives.
Familiarity with culinary techniques including cooking and food production processes.
Experience in managing shift operations in fast-paced environments such as cafes, bars, hotels, or catering services.
