Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supporting the daily care and development of children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with young children, possess relevant experience, and be committed to creating a safe and engaging space for learning and growth. Prior experience with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children is highly valued, along with knowledge of childhood development and classroom management.

Duties

Assist in supervising children during play, learning activities, and mealtimes to ensure safety and engagement Support classroom management by helping organize activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development Implement age-appropriate educational activities that foster early childhood learning Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards Provide basic caregiving duties such as diapering, feeding, and comforting children as needed Support teachers with lesson planning and classroom setup to enhance learning experiences Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones Assist with special needs accommodations when necessary, including working with children with disabilities or those requiring additional support Follow all health protocols including first aid procedures when necessary to ensure children's well-being

Requirements

Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members Compassionate attitude with patience and adaptability in a dynamic environment Prior classroom experience or early childhood education coursework is desirable Ability to pass background checks as required by licensing standards for childcare providers
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.50 - $27.10 per hour
