Data Specialist (Lab Admin)

Position Summary

The Data Specialist for the Lab administers and supports assigned programs and services through data entry, analysis and reporting. Also provides administrative support to Performance Improvement.

In this role, the Data Specialist maintains databases for accuracy, timeliness and usability. This includes entering all data collected into appropriate programs and meeting established deadlines; querying databases for quality indicators information according to specified criteria and exports corresponding results; responding to assigned data requests from lab leadership; and facilitating data and document management to ensure appropriate storage and archiving of information according to established convention.

Other responsibilities include preparing graphical reports of data collected; preparing findings and recommendations for review by appropriate committees and managers; analyzing data for trends or patterns and opportunities for improvement; and overseeing, coordinating, and providing technical expertise for querying and reporting of quality indicator data.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience (meaning 2 additional years of experience if no degree), is required.
• Bachelor\'s degree, preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional level work experience related to data collection and analysis, project/program coordination, and customer service is required.
• Previous experience in a lab providing understanding of lab functions, preferred.

Certifications

• CPHQ: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, preferred.
