Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Data Center Specialist, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our data center operations. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of our computer networking systems, providing exceptional customer service, and executing critical tasks related to equipment repair and installation. Your expertise in telecommunications and low voltage systems will be essential in supporting our mission to deliver seamless connectivity and reliability.

What you'll do

Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and VoIP systems. Perform fiber splicing and cabling tasks using Cat5 and Cat6 standards to ensure robust data transmission. Conduct regular inspections of data center infrastructure, utilizing schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively. Provide field service support by diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions with hand tools and power tools. Collaborate with team members to execute network installations while adhering to NEC standards for low voltage systems. Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving technical challenges promptly. Utilize an ohmmeter for testing electrical connections and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, installations, and repairs performed in the data center.

Basic qualifications

Proven experience as a service technician in IT or data center environments. Strong understanding of computer hardware components and networking principles. Familiarity with CCTV systems for security monitoring within the data center.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with telephony systems including Avaya solutions. Knowledge of LAN (Local Area Network) configurations and Ethernet technologies. Previous hands-on experience with equipment repair in a fast-paced environment.
